We are waiting with heady anticipation for our return to 371 Bloor Street West. Our renewed school is nearly ready!
The beautiful new classrooms look pristine and ready for learning, outfitted with chairs, desks, whiteboards and blackboards. Even clocks adorn the walls. And yes, they are ticking, counting down the days until we come home.
These final days of transition are brimming with excitement for the future that lies ahead, with all the possibilities our new school will provide for our students and our community.
Behold the McIntyre Gymnasium, with a beautiful maple floor in place, currently being oiled and sealed in preparation for the day when the footsteps of students will resound in the vast double gym. Up next: painting the court lines for games like basketball, volleyball and more.
Up above in the Ridley Centre, treadmills, rowing and ski machines and weight equipment, including multi-purpose rigging and teaching stations, have arrived and are being assembled. Soon our students will have a comprehensive fitness facility to provide them with mind-body balance, and resources to hone their competitive edge.
In the Lang Innovation Lab, cutting-edge equipment is being installed. Last week, the UTS IT department connected pieces of the new building’s networking infrastructure to the external internet.
Now we are testing systems, undergoing inspections, obtaining final licenses, and checking off items that are required before we open the doors to our students. Painting and touch-ups are underway. Lockers are sparkling, and each one contains a special surprise gift for the students. The new era of UTS is nearly here and we are grateful to you for believing in our school and helping transform what was once just a dream into a beautiful new reality for UTS.
