These two heroes touched the lives of hundreds of UTS students over decades. Now our alumni have come together in an outpouring of support to honour them for everything they’ve done for our school by officially recognizing them in our renewed building.
All in for Al!
Al Fleming ’54 has been there for UTS – for over seven decades. Tom MacMillan ’67, joined by former UTS Captains, Deputy Captains, and hockey players from the Classes of 1967 to 1995, launched this campaign to honour Al with recognition at the central UTS trophy case (located inside the Huron Street Entrance on the way to the Principal’s Office), as his inspiring leadership helped keep it full during his days at our school.
Anything was possible with Don Fawcett ’50 on your side
It started with Andy Szandtner ’62 and his classmates and before you knew it, 15 alumni ranging from Class of 1958 to 1972 were on board as leaders of this campaign to honour the memory of Coach Don Fawcett ’50 with recognition in the UTS Athletics Office. Because of them and their Classes who supported this endeavor, Don will always be a part of our school!
Great things happen when we come together
Al Fleming, Don Fawcett and coming soon: a campaign for Dr. Norah Maier. Maybe there are others who are worthy of recognition in our renewed building. There are so many people who contribute to making UTS such an exceptional educational experience. If you wish to launch a group campaign in honour of a special UTS person, please contact Carole Zamroutian, Associate Director, Advancement at firstname.lastname@example.org or 416-946-5768. We are happy to help.
