The end of the 2017-18 academic year represented a moment like no other in UTS history. With our 371 Bloor St. West location about to undergo an exciting revitalization, and our students moving to a temporary home at 30 Humbert St. during construction, the Class of 2018 became the final group to graduate from UTS as we have known it for 108 years.
Two days before our most recent graduates celebrated the end of their UTS careers, alumni, parents, current and former staff enjoyed their own opportunity to say “bon voyage” to our historic home. On June 20, hundreds of members of our community paid one last visit to the school for the Bon Voyage, 371 Bloor party, walking the halls, dropping in to old classrooms, taking photos and gathering in the John and Margaret Withrow Hall for an assembly that featured brilliant musical performances.
Saying a (temporary) farewell to our home brought mixed emotions, but a sense of anticipation and excitement for a revitalized UTS shone through. After 108 years in this building, we are building the future of UTS together—and the best is still to come!
